3 places you should never put a security camera

When it comes to your home security setup, location is crucial. Even if you spend thousands of dollars on the best system, placing your camera close to the ground has no effect. Your security cameras should always be placed close to room corners and high on walls.

Even without cameras, some rooms shouldn’t be used, nevertheless. If you instal security cameras in these three locations, you’ll be doing more harm than good.

1. Don’t put security camera in the bedroom

When you arrive home, if you don’t remember to turn the cameras off, you’ll have embarrassing sleep footage. Hackers sneaking in and recording your intimate moments is another concern. Even worse, they could scold you or your kids on the microphone.

2. Avoid the bathroom

Don’t instal surveillance equipment in your bathroom. You’ll not only offend visitors, but you’ll also break the law. In areas where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy, it is forbidden to record someone without their permission. Bathrooms, private bedrooms, and change rooms are all included.

Due to bad experiences in the past, you might want something in the bathroom when you have company around. Kim can identify. Her mother’s medication was once stolen by a contractor.

Instead of installing a security camera in the bathroom, Kim installed a motion sensor on the door of the medicine cabinet. In this method, she is informed anytime visitors snoop in inappropriate places.

3. Look out for places that are blocked or obstructed

Most criminals enter homes through plain-to-see entry points like windows or doors. Avoid installing security cameras in obscure locations like back alleyways. Keep it straightforward and direct the focus toward busy intersections.

Avoid obstacles like bushes, tree branches, and backyard jungle gyms while you’re at it. Try to position your camera high enough that it won’t be affected by bouncy dogs or loud partygoers.
