5 Best Fitbits for 2023: Top Fitness Trackers
We’ve compiled a list of the top Fitbits available, one of which also received an Editors’ Choice Award.
Fitbit is a popular company when it comes to fitness wearables, and for good reason: It consistently offers high-quality products at a range of pricing points, from affordable to luxurious options. It doesn’t matter if you’re a serious exercise enthusiast or someone who just wants to keep track of their physical activity when shopping for the best fitness trackers available. Fitbit can handle it. To assist you with selecting the Fitbit that best suits your lifestyle, we’ve evaluated every model currently available.
The Fitbit reviews on CNET take into account functions like sleep tracking, activity tracking, heart-rate monitoring, heart-rate tracking, and stress tracking. Fitbit is a Google-owned firm that has so many people excited about tracking their steps. When you pay for a supplemental Premium membership, you can even access workouts on the Fitbit app. Here is a list of the top Fitbits that are currently on the market, whether you’re looking for gifts or are just browsing the various Fitbit gadgets out there.
Fitbit Charge 5
Fitbit’s Charge 5 is the finest fitness tracker if you want one that is affordable, comfy, easy to use (there are no buttons), and easy to read outside in the sun. It also has the best functionality for gathering health data. In fact, CNET’s Editors’ Choice Award was recently given to the Charge 5.
The Charge 5 monitors your heart rate using an EKG reading app, your stress level using an electrodermal activity sensor, as well as your skin temperature and blood oxygen saturation. Additionally, it monitors other aspects of your sleep, such as breathing patterns, sleep stages, and restlessness. The Charge 5 keeps track of over 20 different physical activities, including cycling, yoga, and swimming (it’s water-resistant). Additionally, it features a built-in GPS with 20 different activity modes, which is excellent for runners.
Both Android and iPhone devices are compatible with the Charge 5. However, Android users can send instant replies while iPhone users can only receive notifications on the Charge 5 screen.
Fitbit Versa 3
The Versa 3 is a Fitbit smartwatch that, rather than being only a fitness tracker, combines the Charge 5 tracker’s best features with the ability to take calls on your wrist. Fitbit’s finest smartwatch and Apple Watch replacement may not be nearly as intelligent as its Samsung Galaxy Watch or Apple Watch rivals, but it is compatible with both the Apple and Android operating systems and can be integrated with either Alexa or Google Assistant. The Versa 3’s long battery life, which can last up to six days with moderate use and no “always on” display, is one of its greatest qualities. (The Apple Watch, by contrast, only has a day and a half of battery life.)
The more expensive Fitbit Sense offers more health information, but depending on your familiarity with reading medical charts, the value of all the data it supplies you with may be immaterial. By choosing the Versa 3 smartwatch instead, you’ll save money and suffer minimal loss.
For $10 per month or an upfront payment of $80 for a year, Fitbit’s Premium subscription can provide you with further insight into your sleep and stress patterns, as well as things like guided meditation and workouts. Premium is available for three months on the Versa 3 and six months on the Charge 5. Check out our guide to learn more about Fitbit Premium and whether it is worthwhile.
A Daily Readiness Score is another feature of Fitbit Premium that determines if you should push yourself today based on your weekly goals or take it easy today. Several Fitbit devices, including the Versa 3, are now compatible with this.
Fitbit Inspire 2
The most affordable adult device is the Fitbit Inspire 2, and it works well. The “simple” Fitbit monitors vital health indicators including heart rate and Active Zone Minutes. The Inspire 2 includes a free, one-year premium subscription that gives you access to tailored health insights and programmed that can help you sleep better, eat better, and take better care of other aspects of your health.
Although the Inspire 2 lacks GPS and other capabilities like the ability to test blood oxygen levels, it is still an excellent (and more economical) way to get started with fitness tracking if you or someone you know is interested in keeping track of their health data. The Fitbit Premium membership that comes with the Inspire 2 is also significantly more generous than that of other Fitbit models.
Fitbit Luxe
The Fitbit Luxe is for you if you want to track your steps while appearing to be wearing jeweler rather than a fitness tracker. It provides many of the same functions as previous Fitbits, including goal-based workouts, but in a more compact and stylish design that may be more suitable for smaller wrists. The text on the watch’s screen may also be too small for certain people to see because of the design’s overall lower size. Currently, most merchants are offering it for $50 off.
The Luxe may differ most from other models in terms of concentration on overall wellness tracking as opposed to more particular health data, albeit having a sleeker design. For instance, the Luxe uses activity levels, sleep, and heart rate to determine your stress level rather than an electrodermal activity sensor as the Charge 5 and Sense do.
Fitbit Ace 3
This one is fairly easy: The Fitbit Ace 3 is designed exclusively for children to measure sleep and movement, two factors that are important for developing bodies. The Ace 3 allows users to establish goals for active minutes and sleep and activity reminders. The tracker can also provide call notifications to children who possess phones (you know, for when you forget to call Mom).
For kids who love the goggle-eyed animated critters, the Ace 3 is also available in “Minions yellow,” “black with red adjusters,” and cosmos blue with green adjusters.
