Google partners with ADT to launch new smart home security system

Google and ADT have joined to make their selection of smart home devices available through the new ADT Self Setup DIY home security system. With the special bundle, you may add any of a number of Google devices to your house, and each one comes with full support for the brand-new ADT+ smartphone app.

The alliance aims to provide top Google goods along with ADT’s customer service and security. The Nest Cam, Nest Thermostat, Nest Mini, Nest Hub Max, Nest Doorbell, and a number of first-party ADT devices, such as the ADT Motion Sensor and ADT Smart Home Hub, can all be added to the ADT Self Setup system.

Depending on the things you select, the bundle’s price varies, but according to ADT, it starts at $219. You’ll also need to sign up for a $25 monthly monitoring package. To assist you sort through all of your options, a few preconfigured alternatives are offered, such as the $336 Starting Bundle, which comes with a Nest Doorbell, four ADT Door & Window Sensors, two motion sensors, and the ADT Smart Home Hub.

Consumers can also choose which products share information with ADT. Data from Google products that permit information sharing with ADT will be automatically kept in ADT’s cloud computing system so that the firm may decide whether a first responder alert is necessary.

Although it’s not your only choice, the ADT Self Setup system appears to be another reliable addition to the market for smart home security. Make sure to investigate products like SimpliSafe or Ring, as they provide a lot of the same features and may come in at a lower cost (depending on which items you bundle).
