genius ways you are not using your Amazon Alexa

Who said Alexa was only useful for kitchen-related tasks? She’s a smart cookie, so you probably have more you can do with her.

Alexa can bolster home security and check up on ageing relatives, did you know that? For five smart ways to use your Echo and Alexa, tap or click here.

However, there’s still more. Three Alexa life hacks that we came up with increase her functionality and spare you time, irritation, and mental energy better used elsewhere.

1. Sync your personal accounts

Why not make your session more unique by making sure she’s connected to your Amazon Music account if you and your family enjoy listening to various types of music?

How to set up Alexa Profiles is as follows:

Select More from the bottom menu in the this app.
Select Your Profile & Family after choosing Settings.
Add every profile separately utilising Add another person; all accounts associated with Amazon should be added here, including your Prime Video account.
You can add the proper labels for accounts that are already displayed by tapping Enter their name.
Enjoy and confirm!
You’ll need to ask Alexa, “Alexa, which profile are you using?” after adding your profile. In that case, tell this to swap profiles.

2. Create an interactive grocery list

Say goodbye to the refrigerator’s magnetic notepad. When Alexa is available to you just when you need her, she is most helpful. As you discover additional items you need to stock up on throughout the week, you can create a shopping list.

The planners among us will also love this Alexa trick. You may add new lists to the this app (you’ll see the option under Lists & Notes) or you can ask Alexa to make a new list by saying “Alexa, build a new list.” Your usual grocery shopping and your party supplies remain separate and manageable in this way.

Customers of Amazon Fresh can also ask Alexa to add items from the marketplace directly to their shopping baskets. Although you’ll need to schedule your pick-up or delivery time via the Fresh app or website, the actual purchasing will be handled for you.

3. Try Follow-Up Mode for complex commands

Do this, it. Do that, Alexa. Her name is referred to as a “wake word,” and while the phrase itself can be customised, saying it repeatedly while guiding the gadget through any multistep process might be unpleasant.

Follow-Up mode can be made available by:

Entering the Alexa app’s Settings area.
Decide which speaker you want to change.
Turn Follow-Up Mode on under General by scrolling down.
Saying “this, enable Follow-Up mode” will also turn on the feature. For each speaker you want to turn it on, follow these steps.

She will now wait for a few seconds following each order before becoming inactive. If you don’t wait too long, you don’t need to say the wake word again.
