GrammarlyGo: What to Know About Grammarly’s New Generative AI Tool

In April, the majority of Grammarly users will have access to the new feature.

With the addition of GrammarlyGo, a new generative AI tool with the business claims is intended to enhance communication, Grammarly, which provides a real-time spelling and grammar checking tool, is expanding its artificial intelligence capabilities. Beginning in April, the majority of Grammarly users will be able to use it.

Rahul Roy-Chowdhury, Grammarly’s global head of product, stated in a blog post, “Bad communication erodes relationships, stifles business growth and results, and slows feedback loops that eat our time, to mention a few repercussions. We found that poor communication costs US firms up to $1.2 trillion annually — or $12,506 per employee — in research we performed with The Harris Poll last year. The complete report is available here.

Grammarly claims that GrammarlyGo will leverage contextual information from the user’s personal, professional, and social networks to assist write emails, social media posts, and other long-form communications. Hence, if you use GrammarlyGo to compose an interoffice communication to your team at work, the tool may be able to improve the tone of your message.

GrammarlyGo will provide you with prompts to enhance, clarify, or condense a message as well as prompts to change the tone of the message for various situations. Also, if it better suits your needs, you can enter your own prompt.

Also, you may utilize GrammarlyGo to create outlines or concepts that you can add to messages or use as references. Also, the programmed will provide one-click prompts to assist you in overcoming writer’s block.

By embracing cutting-edge innovations like generative AI, Roy-Chowdhury argued, “we can advance our aim of assisting the entire process — from conception to comprehension.

After OpenAI’s ChatGPT emerged at the end of 2022, Grammarly is the most recent tech business to launch an AI product. Several businesses, like Microsoft, Google, and Snapchat, have unveiled AI chatbot tools that resemble human conversational capabilities and are ready to revolutionize internet search and other common online tasks, such as essay writing and vacation booking. These tools can also produce messages and ideas, but they don’t seem to consider context while producing content.

GrammarlyGo’s weak comprehension of context and tone suggests that this AI tool is not just a generative AI but also a very primitive contextual AI.

According to Techopedia, the phrase “generative AI” refers to any kind of AI that may be used to generate content such as text, photos, video, audio, and code. In order to make the optimal choice, contextual AI may examine cultural, historical, and situational aspects of data, according to the technology startup Symbl.ai.

GrammarlyGo, according to Grammalry, has sufficient situational context understanding to produce customized communication for many situations. GrammarlyGo still needs information from you, such as the formality and tone levels, in order to generate the appropriate message. The tool can distinguish between writing a casual and professional response if it is given the data, even though it may not be able to respond appropriately on an intuitive level.

Other Grammarly packages, including Grammarly Premium, Business, Education, and Grammarly for Developers, will all include GrammarlyGo. Certain markets will also allow some Grammarly Free users access to GrammarlyGo.
