It’s safe to argue that a world without tangible discs is getting closer and closer. First major consoles without a disc drive to be available at launch are the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition and Xbox Series S, which has alarmed gamers who enjoy lending their games to friends and family. Thankfully, the PS5 has a feature that enables just that, just like the PlayStation 4. But every new console also brings a new user interface and operating system. What you should know about game sharing on the PS5 is provided here.

How to set up game share on the PS5

It might be simpler to enable game share on your finest PS5 games than it is on a PS4 system. If you become acquainted with the new lingo, that is. The function is referred to as “Console Sharing and Offline Play” on the more recent console. Here is a brief setup guide.

Step 1: Log in to your PlayStation Network account on your PS5.

Step 2: To reach the Settings tab from the main menu, select the Gear icon that is situated between the magnifying glass and your avatar.

Step 3: Select Users and Accounts.

Step 4: Scroll down and select the Other option.

Step 5: Select Offline Play and Console Sharing. If the information indicates that this option is activated on your PS5, you cannot game share and must choose disable.

Step 6: Log out of your PSN account on your PS5.

Step 7: Log in with your PSN on the console you want to game share with.

Step 8:  Select Don’t Disable under Console Sharing and Offline Play from the same menu.

Step 9: Log out of your PSN on this console.

Any of your compatible PS5 games will be available to the person you’re game sharing with once they sign back in using their PSN account. Don’t abuse this feature. Make a wise choice because, as far as we know, you can only game share with one other individual. In the worst-case scenario, you ought to be able to disable the feature and start the sharing process over from scratch.

You might be curious as to whether the game share function works both ways. Yes, whomever you share with will have access to your library and you will be able to play any of the games that are installed on their console. Say farewell to the era of disc sharing. The contemporary and significantly more practical method of game sharing is here to stay.
